It doesn’t feel like I have much exciting to write about lately. All I did for the 4th is lay around for 3 days trying to rest a hurt shoulder.\u00a0So far, this summer\u00a0has been regular ole day to day living, which is just fine for me, but it doesn’t make for interesting reading.<\/p>\n
I guess could write about my shoulder which has been killing me. Since March actually. But who wants to hear about that? I think I pulled a muscle. It was nice being young and only hurting for a few days when I\u00a0did something to myself. As I get older it just lingers and I wonder if it will ever go away. I had something funky going on with my elbows a year or two back and they are fine now\u00a0so hopefully my shoulder will get better too.<\/p>\n
We’ve had a few hot days recently. It’s really the first hot spell of the year. Which i’m grateful it hasn’t come sooner. Usually by July the heat is unbearable. But we’ve been getting plenty of rain and I think that helps. It’s a good thing since the Air Conditioning at the Lake House broke down last weekend. It’s going to cost about $3500 to replace it. Right now I’m using window units and hoping for an unseasonably mild summer.<\/p>\n
One added benefit of the window AC units is all the loud, white noise they make. I get easily annoyed with noisy neighbors. Fortunately, that’s rarely a problem at the Lake House. But since it was the 4th of July weekend and most everyone else’s preferred way of celebrating freedom is blowing things up, it was nice not being able to hear most of the booms. I know i’m crotchety when it come to people shooting fireworks. My personal feeling is that, for the masses, it’s more about releasing their inner pyromaniac than it’s about Liberty. I’m not totally anti-fireworks. I’ll go watch and enjoy a big fireworks display at an event somewhere. It’s the neighborhood sounding like a war torn Middle Eastern country for a few days that I don’t enjoy.<\/p>\n So see, nothing too interesting going on so far in the Summer of 2014. Most people would thank you for taking the time to read their thoughts but I probably should apologize. \u00a0I’m just thankful I can be happy being uninteresting.
